I played in goal a couple of times back in my football days. Mainly cos the real goalie hadnt turned up and no-one else would do it. And I was terrible – and if I am honest, also a little bit scared.
You see you have to be a certain type of person to be a goalkeeper. And concern about protecting them precious braincells isnt top of the attribute lists. And before you say ‘Ah – but David James is well intellectual’, yes he is, but he’s also Nicknamed ‘Calamity’. Proof if anything that the thicker you are the better goalkeeper you will be.
Sadly from that generalised summary of goalkeepers I cant work out if this keeper is a genius or a window licking dunce. All I know is that if you are going to save a penalty – make you you save it…
