OK. So I know the season hasnt really started yet, but the Charity Shield is officially known as the curtain raiser on the new season, and this years game was Chelsea vs Manchester United.
Now in the UK, not many teams have been buying or selling players apart from Manchester City, and thats cos they are bankrolled by a load of Arab Billionaires. So, with fewer transactions going on, the ever canny manager of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson has bought a new, young, Mexican centre forward by the name of Javier Hernandez.
Back in Mexico he is known at ‘Little Pea’. Over here – well, Mr Ferguson has found a player who doesnt just score goals…..(adopts Jeremy Clarkson dramatic pause and voice)…..he sets them up too.
Have a look at this – its goal of the season in any country, in any league, in any year.
Although where I come from – we just call this a ‘Chadwick’
Yay! Its happened! After my previous post about the Jay Zed/Alicia keys take off of “New York”….the might Goldie Looking Chain have got round to making a response video. The brains behind ‘Your Mommas got a penis’, and ‘Guns dont kill people (rappers do), have finally stopped smoking weed long enough to make their own [...]
Its not often that someone does a brilliant pastiche of a famous tune – and even less often that they do it of a Jay-Zed and Alicia Keys tune.
There’s nothing else to write about this really. Just marvel.
Every year since God was a boy, there’s been one song that defines Summer. Well, it seems that Miike Snow have done it again, messing with my [...]
Regular followers of this blog (both of you) wont be suprised to know that I have been to Glastonbury a few times. Four times in fact, until the washout one year when the entire Pyramid stage sunk into the ground, and my tentpoles snapped in half. After that I began to think I was too [...]
Day 19 of the 2010 World Cup is upon us and brings with it the final day of the last 16 knockout stages. The two games today will determine who joins Ghana, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Holland and Uruguay in the quarter finals.
The closing stages of the World Cup are nearly upon us, with the last [...]
For England, ze World Cup 2010 is over. An inept display which will surely have Fabio Capello answering some serious questions up at the FA headquarters has thrown a small shadow over what has turned out, after the first two rounds of games, to be a quite excellent tournament.
Today sees the last 2 games in [...]
So, FIFA have decided that ‘the door is definitely closed’ to using goal line technology, but the have conceded that all referees will have to have eye tests before the next round of games to ensure that they are all comfortable with their vision.
FIFA have developed a series of tests for referees to take, and [...]
